ANNIRUDH DAVE REPLACES NISHANT MALKANI

Jaipur boy Annirudh Dave replaced Nishant Malkani in the upcoming political drama Shorgul on the basis of starry tantrums and sky rocketing commercials. While Nishant stood a strong chance of being considered for a pivotal role in the film, his extra demands and high handed attitude turned off the directors instantly. Well one man’s loss is another man’s gain. What more can we say?

Aman Singh, Co Producer, Shorgul states, “Annirudh is such a down to earth actor with no qualms whatsoever. Infact there was a scene where he shot for more than 10 hours underwater and thereby contracted fungus in his eyes. But despite a blurry vision, he continued to shoot without being attended to by a doctor so that the team could wrap up on time and hence he has gained a lot of respect with his fellow actors.”

Annirudh Dave, “ I’m very excited about Shorgul especially since I’m playing one of the leads in the film. I got to experiment a lot with my character. I hope the film carries the message of humanity across the nation and I can be in someway instrumental in conveying that message.”

A 24 FPS Films Production, the political drama film is based on intolerance and aspires to make audiences contemplate on where humanity stands amidst the noise of religious, social, political and economic prejudice. It is inspired by sensitive real-time incidents that shook the foundation of democracy, set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh.  The film will touch upon grave subjects that have transpired in the recent past such as Muzzafarnagar, Godhra, Babri Masjid riots apart from making references to bureaucratic misdoings of some high profile dignitaries.  Some of the lead actors in the film will bear resemblance to real life politicians such as Akhilesh Yadav, Sangeet Soam, Azam Khan in their look, mannerisms and even names. ChidiyagharMohalla is returning from a wedding and are faced with a new challenge as their bus develops a technical snag. The entire wedding party is then forced to go look for shelter so that they can spend the night and arrange for another mode of transport.

They then head to a nearby village where they see the villagers dancing in someone’s wedding procession. Excited they go ahead and join the baraat, however when they enquire about the bride and groom the villagers are reluctant to divulge any details. They bump into an old man who warns them and asks them to leave immediately, he also directs them to an old Haveli where they can spend the night. All hell breaks loose when they open a box and strange incidents happen in the Haveli which leaves all of them petrified.

Will the members of ChidiyagharMohalla escape this situation unscathed?

Aditi Sajwan who plays Koyal said, “The members of ChidiyagharMohalla encounter some supernatural activities while they are put up in an old Haveli. Everyone is scared as they realize that they are trapped and there is probably no way out. They consult a Tantrik who then tries to rescue them and help them escape.”

Madhuri gets emotional recalling her struggling days in Bollywood

“I do not consider myself to be pretty”, said Madhuri Dixit in a past interview. Asking her about this, So You Think You Can Dance host and a true fan of the diva, Mouni Roy quizzed her about the reason behind making such a statement.

The upcoming episode of the world’s biggest dance show will see Madhuri recalling her early struggle days in Bollywood. She said, “Those were my early struggling days and I used to feel I don’t actually fit into the ‘Perfect’ size of heroines back that time in Bollywood. And I use to think that way majorly because of the continuous criticisms I used to face from outsiders. But that didn’t deter my path to success and I worked hard and I think I have accomplished what I had set out for.”

Ajay Devgn wishes best of luck to his brother Vatsal Sheth for Baazigar

Vatsal Sheth and Ishita Dutta will be seen together on Life OK’s new show, Rishto ka Saudagar – Baazigar from 20^th June. It is not just the Telly-town which is excited to see the comeback of these two but also the B-town and leading the pack is Ajay Devgn who tweeted about his excitement and well wishes for his brother, Vatsal’s project.

Vatsal has worked with Ajay Devgn in his debut film Tarzan the Wonder Car in 2004 where he played son to Ajay Devgn. Ever since then the two have been in constant touch and support each other on social networking sites.

Vatsal Sheth says, “Our association goes way back when I entered this industry and he guided me in my first film. He has been a brother ever since and it is very sweet of him to support me with my new project, Baazigar”.

~Raj Kundra Surprises Shilpa Shetty on The Kapil Sharma Show~

Recently on the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show, the Bollywood diva, Shilpa Shetty got a pleasant surprise. Shilpa who was accompanied by her sisterShamita Shetty, was shooting for the upcoming episode where she will be seen promoting Sony Entertainment Television’s new show, Super Dancer.

Amidst all dance, gags and revelation of cute childhood stories, Shilpa was unaware that the team had invited Raj Kundra also to be a part of the shoot. Disguised as a Sardar, Raj was seated in the audience for more than half the episode. During the shoot, Kapil asked audience if they had any questions for Shilpa and Shamita. When the mic was passed around, Raj introduced himself as Tharki Singh to Shilpa Shetty. Almost unrecognisable in his turban, beard, sunglasses and a fake paunch, Raj gave multiple clues to Shilpa. In spite of this, Shilpa couldn’t identify him. It was only when Kapil revealed Tharki Singh’s true identity was when Shilpa recognised him.

A source from the set mentioned, “Due to busy working schedule and late shoot hours, Shilpa regretted not being able to spend quality time with Raj. The team of Kapil Sharma decided to grant her wish by inviting Raj to shoot without Shilpa’s knowledge. When we approached Raj with the idea, he readily agreed and we came up with the idea of him being dressed as a Sardar. What followed was a lot of laughter and some good fun!”

Patna, June 2016: After the overwhelming response in 2015, Tata Institute of Social Science, School of vocational education announces the application for June 2016.The application of the courses will be opened across India in the cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, West Bengal, Noida, Chennai, and Bangalore etc. The institute will offer Bachelor degrees and diplomas in the Diploma in Medical Lab Technology,Early Child Development, Child Protection, X-ray & Ultrasound Technology, Food & Beverage Service, In Hotel Management, Patient Care Management, Sales & Marketing, etc.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences set up the School of Vocational Education (SVE) to provide immediate and definite interventions to improve the lives of the disadvantaged and marginalized youth through appropriate vocational training programs. The vision of SVE is to create an ecosystem that would bring back the dignity of labour for blue collar streams of work and provide sustainable sources of income for the marginalized youth in the country.

The UGC has introduced a new degree –Bachelor of Vocation and it can be in different vocational fields. It is a three-year course after H.Sc. with a possibility of multiple entry and exit. The student completing first year gets a Diploma certificate, after second year he/she gets the Advanced Diploma certificate and after completion of three years, the B.Voc. Degree is awarded.

The TISS SVE model has few unique features:

• All courses are offered in a Work Integrated Training mode where most students get a stipend for the work they do. So it is an Earn while you Learn More emphasis on practical training (60%) as compared to the classroom teaching (40%).
• Cost effective model as there is no investment in infrastructure, equipment’s, labs etc. Students learn on the latest equipment’s of the industries
• It is scalable as a large number of students can be trained with the involvement of partners

Talking about this Neela Dabir, Dean Tata Institute of Social Science, School of Vocational Education said, “All over the world there is a major shortage of skilled manpower and most countries are trying to increase the number of skilled workers that are needed by different Industries as well as Service sectors. In India because of the demographic dividend, it is all the more necessary to ensure that our younger generation gets education in employable skills. Only twenty percent of our graduates from the traditional education streams are employable. The rest need to acquire additional qualification to get a job. The situation of youth who cannot afford to learn beyond S.S.C. or H.S.C. is even more vulnerable. Therefore there is a definite need to offer meaningful job oriented skill/vocational training courses in a variety of fields”.

Kairana &  Nirbhay Yatra Depicted In Shorgul?

Sangeet Som  Threatened?

It’s interesting to see how Jimmy Shergill-Ashutosh Rana starrer Shorgul that releases in theaters on 24th of June is turning out to be quite the Nostradamus of political dramas with a new twist of real time national news finding its reference in the film.

Recently a scene from the film emerged online that shows Narendra Jha  (who’s on-screen character, Alam Khan is speculated to be inspired by political leader Azam Khan), delivering a hefty speech directly relating to the Kairana issue at a political gathering. While in real life Kairana faces a law and order issue, it is getting a communal colouring through religious connotations being attached to it. Its uncanny as to how a film shot probably a year back, has one of its characters in the film (Narendra Jha) making a direct reference to Kairana. Since the release of the film’s trailer, there has been mayhem on how the role essayed by Jimmy Shergeill (Ranjit Om in the film)  has a striking resemblance to  political leader Sangeet Som, who has been connected to the Muzzafarnagar riots in the past. Getting a bit jittery, Sangeet Som had instructed a ban on Shorgul with a PIL being filed against the makers for negative portrayal of his character by Jimmy Shergeill.  While one one hand, Jimmy has consistently denied his character to be a biopic depiction, more similarities between the reel life and real life seem to be emerging with new scenes from the film put out.

With Sangeet Som announcing Nirbhay Yatra March into the Kairana district even after Hukkum Singh requesting him not to, Kairana threatens to remind us of Muzzafarnagar Riots and Shorgul will expose it all on the big screen. A 24 FPS Films Production, Shorgul has been on the radar of various political parties and on the hitlist of the Censor Board with the film already touching upon issues like Muzzafarnagar Riots, Babri Masjid and Godhra riots and now Kairana. The Censor Board had also requested the makers to mute the words Godhra and Gau Ganga from the film which was complied with. Interestingly most of the scenes in the film have been shot during real time political rallies and proceedings and there were instances when the makers were threatened by various social groups thinking that they were instigating riots in the city without realizing a film was being shot.

Swatantra Vijay Singh, Producer, Shorgul, states, “We had done an extensive research on the past communal incidents of our country before going to shoot for Shorgul and will be the first film that dares to highlight the Political manipulation of our religious sentiments. What’s happening in Kairana is really sad, but we all know that this is not for the first time. Kairana has been suffering from a poor state of law and order but vested interests of politicians have been using it to create communal disharmony. Yes our film definitely touches upon various controversial political controversies but it is no way a biopic but more like a need of the hour. We don’t wish to defame any political party but we definitely want to highlight various subjects and ensure that audiences go back home with questions and a possible resolve towards a more logical India. “

It’s interesting to see how Jimmy Shergill-Ashutosh Rana starrer Shorgul that releases in theaters on 24th of June is turning out to be quite the Nostradamus of political dramas with a new twist of real time national news finding its reference in the film.

Recently a scene from the film emerged online that shows Narendra Jha  (who’s on-screen character, Alam Khan is speculated to be inspired by political leader Azam Khan), delivering a hefty speech directly relating to the Kairana issue at a political gathering. While in real life Kairana faces a law and order issue, it is getting a communal colouring through religious connotations being attached to it. Its uncanny as to how a film shot probably a year back, has one of its characters in the film (Narendra Jha) making a direct reference to Kairana. Since the release of the film’s trailer, there has been mayhem on how the role essayed by Jimmy Shergeill (Ranjit Om in the film)  has a striking resemblance to  political leader Sangeet Som, who has been connected to the Muzzafarnagar riots in the past. Getting a bit jittery, Sangeet Som had instructed a ban on Shorgul with a PIL being filed against the makers for negative portrayal of his character by Jimmy Shergeill.  While one one hand, Jimmy has consistently denied his character to be a biopic depiction, more similarities between the reel life and real life seem to be emerging with new scenes from the film put out.

Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal and Kapil Sharma are great friends and are often seen sharing great camaraderie on and off screen. When the talented badminton player made an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show last month, she had candidly confessed that Kapil is her lucky charm. We hear the very charming television actor Hiten Tejwani will be seen sharing a passionate on-screen kiss with his female counterpart, Turkish supermodel Suha Gezen in the much awaited political drama Shorgul. Hiten will essay a Muslim for the first time and will be seen reminiscing his theatre days as Shorgul brings out the stage actor in him.

Sources close to the production house state, “Hiten was very professional and since the scene demanded intimacy at some level he was okay with the idea. Although we have got a censor clearance, we are still contemplating on whether we should omit the scene from the final cut since Hiten caters to the family audience and after almost 4 months of convincing did he okay the proposal.”

Rumours are also abuzz that Suha got selected for the role upon Jimmy Shergill’s recommendation. We are just wondering if Jimmy should have been the one turning serial kisser in this case!
